Why We Use Full-Grain Leather
Made for the job. Made for you.
At Compendium Co, we don’t use shelf-stock leather.
Every piece of leather used in our compendiums is made specifically for this product — from the initial hide selection through to the dyeing and finishing process.
We start with high-quality cowhide, chosen for its strength, durability, and natural character. From there, we follow the process end to end:
- The leather is tanned and dyed to our spec
- Cut and finished to fit each folder precisely
- Then crafted into the final product
This isn’t off-the-shelf production — it’s a deliberate, hands-on process.
And because we use full-grain leather, each compendium develops a natural patina over time, giving it a unique character that reflects real use.
Built to last. Designed to work.
